About NewDays

An independent news site for international readers, with the sources attached to every article.

NewDays is an independent English-language news site for readers anywhere in the world. It covers five areas: World, Technology, Business, Science and Culture.

What you will find here

Each article reports one event or explains the background to it. Every article names the date the event happened, lists the sources it was built from, and links to them, so you can check the facts for yourself.

The site opened with a set of articles about events from the three months before launch. Those pieces carry a “From the archive” label and show two dates: the date of the event and the date NewDays published the article. We do not backdate publication.

How the work is done

NewDays is a small project, not a newsroom with correspondents. Articles are researched and drafted with the help of an AI system from published material: official statements, court and regulatory documents, statistical releases, scientific papers and reporting by established news organisations. Nothing is published automatically: every article goes out on the editor’s decision, and the published version is recorded. The launch set of 50 archive articles was released together on the editor’s decision, after automated checks of the sources and images rather than a line-by-line read of each piece; if you find an error in one, please tell us.

NewDays has no reporters in the field. We do not conduct interviews, and we do not claim to have witnessed events. When an article quotes someone, the quote comes from a published source and says where it was said.

More detail is in our editorial policy and AI policy. If we get something wrong, the corrections page explains how to tell us and what we do about it.
