How to report an error and what we do when we get something wrong.
If you believe an article on NewDays contains a factual error, please tell us. We would rather correct a mistake than leave it standing.
How to report an error
Write to A contact address is being set up and will be added to this page. with:
- the address (URL) of the article;
- the sentence or figure you believe is wrong;
- a source that shows the correct information, if you have one.
What happens next
- The editor checks the claim against the article’s sources and any source you provide.
- If the article is wrong, it is corrected. A dated note at the end of the article says what was changed, and the article’s “Updated” date changes.
- If the article was materially misleading, the note says so plainly. We do not silently rewrite articles.
- If an article cannot be made accurate, it is withdrawn.
Small fixes that do not change meaning, such as spelling, are made without a note.
